THE GRAND FINALE OF WHERE IS THE GUY I MARRIED EPISODE 7

Image
It was as if I woke up from the wrong side of the bed on Sunday morning. I had woken up several times in the midnight to hit my husband so he could change his position in order to stop his snores. On one of the occasions, he had opened his eyes widely with his mouth opened and what was it my eyes saw- drool! I shook my head. Still very sleepy, he scratched his head, then his moustache and then his hairy chest. “Oh my God!” I exclaimed loudly. It was just two in the morning ‘Why is this guy like this?’ I asked myself “Dear, did you hit me? Like…I mean…did you…” he babbled on, drifting back into sleep. I pulled the blanket over him. “Dave, is this the great surprise you have for me? Snores, drools and sleepless night, huh!” I exclaimed again, almost shouting but my husband was long asleep. ‘I hope this is not a bad sign o. I pray against bad omen. Since I met Dave, he had never been this strange at night!’ I sat up and stared at his face. I looked over at my baby’s be...

THE PENULTIMATE EPISODE OF WHERE IS THE GUY I MARRIED

Image
Sweet Mother went out of the room to open the main door for Dorcas leaving Dave and I inside the room. I concentrated on Blossom that was feeding quietly while pulling at my weave. I was trying to pull myself together. I swallowed several times perhaps the liquid can quench the burning that had started in my chest. Dave’s arm coiled round my neck and he pulled me close. Blossom looked up and smiled so heartily at the union but my baby’s smile didn’t do me anything. What is Dorcas coming to do here? Is she perhaps coming to confront me? Over my own husband? “It’s not going to happen” Dave said as if he knew what was going on in my heart. I looked up at him and faked a smile. “Nothing you are thinking about will happen. Now, give me your hand and trust me” He said and even when I was reluctant and slow, he laid hold of my hand and held it with confidence. “Let’s do this together” he said and I swallowed again before sighing deeply. “But must she come into our bedroom?” ...

EPISODE 5 OF WHERE IS THE GUY I MARRIED

Image
The darkness was as thick as anything! I could see nothing but darkness! I could feel nothing but darkness! I even tasted darkness! Then, fear set in, then insecurity, then anguish, then the sudden realization that it might be that I am in hell and then, I screamed so loudly I felt I was going to vomit my internal organs. “Where am i? Can someone please talk to me?” I cried out and listened for any response. My voice reverberated in the darkness as thickly as the darkness. “You want someone to speak to you?” A light flashed from behind me as the voice spoke. I looked behind me but saw nothing but the same darkness. The voice sounded so familiar that it hurt my heart that I couldn’t place the owner. “Who is that? And where am i?” “It’s a pity that my daughter doesn’t understand my voice again ” the voice came again, there was light briefly again. That’s the voice! The voice of the Holy Spirit and I was so joyful. “Daddy, I have missed you but what’s this da...

WHERE IS THE GUY I MARRIED EPISODE 4

I shook from head to toes. Dave has finally succeeded in killing me! Everything he is babbling about could be handled by a Christian wife perhaps but not me! My faith hasn’t reached that level yet. He has been disgusted by his wife of just one year to the extent that he resorted to watching porn and probably masturbating. Now, he says there are more confessions. He has an affair out of wedlock? Then I will leave him, forever! He has a child outside? Jesus, what would I do? I will kill myself He has multiple baby mamas? Ah! I will kill him, then precious Blossy,  then myself. “Liz, easy! Take it easy” The Holy Spirit started speaking again. I reversed and sat on the bed. My two legs couldn’t bear the shock anymore. They started hitting each other. I started having a mild chest pressure. I could feel air struggling to pass through my bronchi. Another attack is looming! But abeg, let asthma stay aside. As I let out a very dry cough and started wheezing, Dave rush...

WHERE IS THE GUY I MARRIED EPISODE 3

I was determined to show Dave hell when he comes back. The offences were that he cheated on me and also that he never told me about it. “If he had told you about it, would you have been able to contain it?” My Guide whispered to my ears. “See, right now Holy Spirit, I am not ready for peace. I am not happy. I kept myself for this guy. I never knew a man. No man had seen my nakedness apart from him and now, he is not contended!” I ranted on and on. I picked my Bible and put it aside. I didn’t want any chance for God thing this afternoon. God is too peaceful o! When it’s time to fight, we should. If he comes now and I am submissive to him, he would really not know what offence he has committed. I flipped through the Christian channels on the cable and they were talking about forgiveness, tolerance, understanding, prayer bring every yokes down. Even the Islamic stations bombarded my ears with not allowing the devil into our marriages by our mistakes. I felt like screaming!...

WHERE IS THE GUY I MARRIED? (EPISODE 2)

Image
The scent of our Rosemary perfume wafted into my nose and I opened my heavy eyes. Wow! It's morning already. I knew if I checked the mirror, my eyes would be hotter than fire. I didn’t even know when I drifted into sleep. My husband’s odd behavior drove me really crazy last night! As I opened my eyes, I saw Dave standing before the king-sized mirror knotting his tie. He looked really handsome and the suit was his perfect size! But his hair? His hair wasn’t combed at all. Why? God please help me to be the Proverbs 31 virtuous lady. Don’t let me chase my husband out oh God! Give me wisdom. What do I know is on his mind now? What will I do? I sighed deeply and adjusted on the bed. I cleared my throat because it had become croaky from the last night’s cries. He turned back to look at me. Then he faced the mirror again. “Good morning” he muttered “Good morning dear. I waited for you last night. I didn’t even know when you came in. I am so sorry for all that transpired l...

WHERE IS THE GUY I MARRIED? (EPISODE 1)

WHERE IS THE GUY I MARRIED? (EPISODE 1) “Wiiiiiieeeeeeennnn, wieeeeeeeeeeeeeeen, wieeeeeennnnnennnn” my baby’s cry geared on and on. “Jesus, please stop her. Please calm her down. What do I know is wrong with her now?” I kept muttering to myself as I sat up and held my three month old baby in my arm. She was crying profusely. Tears dotted her face like little puddles of water. She doesn’t want to be appeased. She refused to be breastfed too. What shall I do? I climbed down the bed and danced around while singing lullabies for her but instead of being appeased, Blossom kept crying. “Is it her diapers?” I asked myself. I went to her wardrobe and brought out another diaper. I went back to the bed, sat down, removed all of her clothes and off I set to the bathroom. After giving Blossom a warm bath, I came back to the bedroom to dress her in another light, comfortable sleeper after applying sufficient powder on her body and enough oil on her scalp. Yet, the cry continued. I wa...

MARYJANE: MY FIRST LOVE –

Image
“Maymay! So good to see you. You look stunning as usual,” I said enthusiastically to my girlfriend, Maryjane. She let that intoxicating smile of hers take a languid trip across her stunningly beautiful face. “So good to see you too, my dear,” she said, hugging me cautiously. We stood in front of their compound. She was not quite as warm as I had known her to be. “Are you okay my love?” I inquired. “Yes…yes, I am fine, darling. My father is at home and I can’t let him see you,” she said walking to the side of the building. I followed her obsequiously. “Why don’t you stay here for the time being? I will be right back. Let me attend to a few things inside to make my father happy. As soon as I can, I will be right with you,” she explained. Her face carried a look of urgency. A degree of anxiety shimmered on her face. “I can leave, you know. I will be back another day,” I offered. “Oh know, you came all the way from across town to see me. It has been a while we met…since you travelled to...
