************EPISODE FIVE************ The evening of that same day as Betty was pounding yam for dinner and her husband was already home and shouted at her for still cooking, as she was rushing things she started feeling a bit dizzy and head ache, she thought it was something minor so she continue pounding the yam, after some minutes, the head ache became unbearable and it was like someone was hitting a big nail on her head. that was when she knew that if something is not done immediately to stop it, it might turn to something else, she started going inside their room to get some drugs, when she got there she met her husband busy with his laptop as usual. EPISODE 3 & 4 Bekky knows that anytime her husband behaves like that no need pleading with him because it will be definitely falling on deaf ears, she went inside the kitchen and started preparing the egusi soup. when the food was done she went ahead and serve it and left to call her husband. SHE BELONGS TO THE KITCHEN EPISODE 1&2 Bekky looked at the clock for the third time wishing for time to stop so that she could finish preparing dinner before her husband comes home. She has been working since morning that she couldn't finish cooking on time. “Oh God please send traffic jam from above to delay my husband where ever he is now so that I can finish cooking this food because I am really not ready for his wahala this …….” Before she could conclude her prayers she heard sound of a car driving in side their compound. Episode 45 ‘’well I guess It’s now time to explain myself’’ Henry muttered , breathing heavily. We all nodded, eagerly waiting for his own side of the story. ‘’I met comfort through my cousin some years back and as a young man was very much attracted to her, but her behavior kind of pushed me off because the silly girl simply friendzoned me upon everything I did to win her. So I had to walk away and move on with my life even though I still saw her occasionally through my cousin until she had problem in her department which she needed cash to settle. Episode 44 ‘’I have to go check what’s going on out there’’ Henry muttered , bravely heading to the door but my mother in law instantly stopped him. ‘’no my son it isn’t safe. I just got back to the city yesterday only to learn from detective Johnson that someone shot you’’ Henry suddenly said to me. I breathed deeply and stared at him accusingly. ‘’you have a lot to tell me. You have a lot of explanation to make. you have to start talking’’ I said seriously. Episode 43 ‘’you know you aren’t getting away with this. You better surrender, let’s end this peacefully’’’ the detective said professionally but his words had no effect on comfort who simply laughed. ‘’seems like you didn’t understand what Mr. Henry said to you?. Mr. detective, I have nothing to lose, moreover how will you stop me from getting away?. You are all alone with no backup. You are facing my gun’’ she said with a soft laugh. ‘’and who told you I have no backup?’’ the detective asked. ‘’I know you came alone. You never expected to see me here’’she answered with a shrug. ‘’don’t be too sure’’’ the detective stammered, trying his best to talk Comfort into putting down her weapon but his words failed to have any effect on her. ‘’Comfort why are you making things more difficult to you?. Episode 42 Comfort sat beside me, felt my pulse and breathed deeply. ‘’I’m really very sorry my love. you know i never meant to shoot you. I even risked everything just to be with you right now. I know the police are already looking for me’’ she muttered and swallowed hard. ‘’you shot me’’I said accusingly. ‘’you know I never meant to. You are the last person I will ever hurt deliberately’’she replied slowly as tears quickly filled her eyes. ‘’but you were in my house to kill my wife? What did she do to deserve such attempt on her life?’’ I queried breathlessly. Her eyes quickly lit up. She bit her lips and closed her eyes for a second. ‘’she killed my baby. The d--n woman killed my child with her trickery’’ she exploded, shaking with rage. ‘’she got in my way. She refused leaving you for anything’’ she poured out like someone possessed with a bad spirit. I felt like slapping her that moment not withstanding how weak I was. Episode 41 I opened my eyes to find myself in a hospital. My wife, my mother in law and detective Johnson were all present with a look of concern on their faces. I tried to smile but was unsuccessful. I tried to talk but couldn’t. ‘’oh dear Lord, he’s finally awake’’ Jessica breathed happily, handed over my little daughter to her mother, drew forward and sat beside me on the bed, touching my chest. ‘’baby’’ she breathed. I tried once again to force myself to talk but still couldn’t. ‘’please relax dearest. You are still in shock’’ Jessica said softly. I speechlessly stared at her as I slowly remembered what put me on the hospital bed. I quickly remembered Comfort. My heart beat quickly increased. I became overly scared. I was scared because comfort was still free out there, probably lying in wait for Jessica and my little daughter. No one was there to stop her. I alone knew what the d--n girl was capable of. Episode 40 I returned to my house with a very heavy mind. i was so hungry, scared and uncertain of what next to do. Episode 39 ‘’what!, I can’t believe this’’ I shouted, ‘’you have to calm down sir, you are in a hospital’’ the doctor begged. ‘’ the poor boy is just the end result of your mistakes with my cousin’’ he added, ‘’but why didn’t you tell me all along?, why keep such thing away from me?’’ I asked angrily, but my question kind of made the doctor angry. ‘’listen mister, you have no moral justification to be disturbing my peace this morning. You never showed any atom of care or love to the boy. You virtually left him all alone with his mother, so why the sudden interest?. Episode 38 ‘’let’s go home and freshen up. You need to eat and rest. We will be back for the paper work’’ I said softly. She held me strongly as if her life depended on it. ‘’please don’t leave me. I don’t want to be alone’’ she cried.. An hour later, we arrived at her apartment where some concerned neighbors were waiting for our return. Comfort started crying all over again, leaving me with no choice than to try my best in comforting her.. I spent all morning with her, managing to sneak out around 12pm, after convincing her that I will be back in an hour. ‘’please don’t stay away for too long. Episode 37 ”what!!”, ‘’what do you mean he’s dead?’’ I asked with disbelief, sitting up on my bed. ‘’he’s dead oo, he’s dead. He died few minutes ago’’ comfort cried out once again, leaving a heavy pain on my chest with the chilling words. ‘’I’m all alone here. You know my mother has been away for a while. I’m so confused’’ she cried. ‘’hold on dear. I will be right there in few minutes.’’ I promised jumped out of the bed, changed clothes and freshened up quickly. ‘’what’s wrong?, what’s happening?’’ I soon heard Jessica ask as she turned on the bed. Episode 36 After two weeks of living together as one happy family. Jessica began insisting on paying a visit to comfort and her baby, something I opposed with all my heart but she kept insisting that it almost led to a quarrel. ‘’I don’t see the reason why you are kicking against it. Of course as your wife I’m duty bound to pay at least one visit to that girl to see her son. I have every right to do it. i’m dying to see how her son looks’’ Jessica heavily insisted on the third week, forcing me to reluctantly accept her request. Episode 35 The arrival of my little girl brought so much joy and happiness in my heart. Oh yea I was expecting a son but the joy of seeing an exact little replica of my wife was so much to contain. ‘’our little girl is so pretty’’ I whispered sweetly into Jessica’s ears as she regained her strength on the hospital bed. She smiled weakly, managing to bring up her hand which she placed on my face. ‘’I’m so happy. I’m now a full woman’’ she breathed with tears of joy. I bent and kissed her forehead. ‘’promise me that things will never get bad again’’ she begged softly. Episode 34 Leaving Henry’s apartment, i headed straight to see Comfort in order to straighten things with her.
